Today is: Sunday, April 20

Hello my name is Dyna. I have been singing since my early teens. Looking back on my singing career I think that I have always loved singing. I can remember as a child my mother practicing with me and my sister to sing a church hymn for a Sunday morning service and for whatever reason my mother became scared and backed out. My sister was delighted but I was so disappointed that I cried. It was not until years later that I discovered that I had a talent.

I noticed that when I sang people gave me positive feedback and encouragement which lead me only to pursue harder what I love. I have sung in various arenas from the children’s choir to the youth choir at church. I sang in my high school choir and even sang in college in the gospel and Glee clubs. I love to sing in all different voices however alto is my passion. I think by nature I think in harmony and it's what comes out naturally. It was not until I was in college that I began to sing tenor and I thank God that I did that because I am now able to hear a song and can hear all three parts.

I can't imagine life without singing. After college I returned to my church and became the choir director and have been doing that ever since. Singing is a stress reliever for when I am going through something difficult. It's my way to connect to my God.

I can't think of a better way to be ushered into God’s presence. I thank God each time He is able to expand my gift, I not only sing but I also write songs, however I have to be in the right mindset for words and music to start flowing. I also enjoy changing songs in the hymn book and making new renditions that the choir or anyone can sing. I feel privileged and I am honored that my Lord and Savior has chosen me to bestow such a wonderful gift and my desire is to share and help anyone experience what I have found in singing and teaching music. God bless!
